Tasmania Roadtrip Week 6 - Tasman Island

When the Tasman Island lighthouse was manned and the seas were too rough for a supply boat to land, they used a crane operated by a steam-driven donkey engine to hoist the goods onto this landing platform (top). From there twin trolleys, one up one down, were used to haul things up near the zigzag track. Now it is used mostly by the fur seal colony (bottom).
